I got into a discussion with my brother in law about his post ban lower receivers.   He told me his post ban lower receivers are still under the same restrictions since the ban was lifted.   I didn't think that was the case but I didn't know enough to argue about it.  He was going to buy new lowers to replace his post bans.  Can anyone educate me about this subject?  Can he put all the fun stuff on his post ban lowers??

Depends on where he lives.  In Ky he can build what he wants.

The Federal AWB no longer has any relevance, it's gone. Some states still have a ban though, of varying types

best thing would be to go to hometown and check your state and ask

He lives in Kentucky so ban is not in effect.  Thanks for the info.

Assuming he lives in a ban-free state, he can build what he wants.(staying within the other applicable laws like NFA of course)

It doesn't matter when the lower was made, the federal AWB is gone.

It doesn't matter if it was a complete post-ban rifle or not,  the federal AWB is gone.

It doesn't matter if the lower is stamped "Law Enforcement Only", the federal AWB is gone.

Tell him to quit listening to the gun shop that wants him to buy all new lowers.
