Are they all the same?
Bushmaster, DPMS, De/-Ton, LAR, White Oak, etc. Are there any to stay away from, or are any preferred for some reason? This is going to be used for a KISS build, probably mid-length gas, 16"... |

If you want to get really pricey...

I'm partial to the Vltor MUR especially since you can get it without the worthless (IMO) forward assist. I do not believe the MUR is available in an A2 configuration. An A2 MUR would be nice! I have had good experiences with the Bushmaster A2 uppers, very nicely made & finished. |

White Oak Armament's A2 NM upper with 1/2 X 1/2 or 1/4 X 1/4 PINNED rear sights are the best for accuracy work. The standard A2 uppers are pretty much the same. Rock River sells a A2 NM rear sights but does not pin them to remove all the play the way WOA does. Having better costs more.
NM rear sights aren't really KISS, but they are really good. |
