Here's a reply I made in another thread a couple weeks back about my experience with flash hider removal.
As far as installation, a Vortex (which I put on) is neat because it self tightens when you shoot it, and doesn't need a crush washer. For a Phantom, you need a washer in there, and to tighten it so if it has no slots on the bottom.
