I've got a BCM upper, and I picked up a Phantom FH/Comp. Do I need to take any special precautions or use any certain tools when taking the old one off and installing the new one?

Here's a reply I made in another thread a couple weeks back about my experience with flash hider removal.

As far as installation,  a Vortex (which I put on) is neat because it self tightens when you shoot it, and doesn't need a crush washer.  For a Phantom, you need a washer in there, and to tighten it so if it has no slots on the bottom.   That's all they mean if you read about "timing" the flash hider properly.
