ok, so just bought one today to see if I like them or not. Seems fine, but the most obvious negative is that it fails to drop out of the mag well on its own. Has anyone used them enough to know if they will "wear" to such an extent that they slide better and will drop out of the well by itself or will they continue to "stick"?
THANKS! Brian |
| I haven't tried the sanding yet. But all of my pmags have been used pretty regular in my DPMS lower & none have worn in to the point of dropping free. This includes old Pmags, & M versions. I'm hesitant to sand them becauseI have 2 other AR builds that they all drop free from. |

Rock River AR's have the hardest time with the new P30"M" Mags. I can tell you that it is due to both the AR and the Mag.
My LMT and Colt 6920 have some issues with the newer P30M Mag, depending on production times. In this case, it's the batch since other p30's do not hang up as much. The Gen 2 PMags have no problems in any of my AR's. |

Including myself i think this is like the 5th time i have seen this subject matter in 2 days. Sucks too cause pmags have always in the past been straight money....now i wondering I never had one single issue in maybe 20 or 30 of the previous versions.

Never had an issue with Pmags.
Most likely issues are the lower, not the mag (especially if they work in other lowers). I only have one M revision mag though, but it works fine too! 1 M revision non-window 8 old standards 80-90+ old windowed. ETA: Never used a non-Pmag. |
| I have one lower that doesn't want to let go of PMAGs. It's an old LMT. I also have another LMT that works fine. My conclusion is that it has more to do with the lower. Some lowers' magwells may be very slightly out of spec. My PMAGs all have seen a lot of use and are well broken-in, so I doubt they are at fault. But, because lowers are machined and, therefore, susceptible to slight variances (even the high-end makers). Injection molded parts mean they are consistent every time. Then again, the LMT lower that doesn't drop the PMAGs hasn't had much use. |
