I read in a previous post that I cannot buy 30 round magazines in my state, (Maryland) but I can buy them in another state. The magazines are legal to own and use in Maryland, but not to purchase in MD.
I will just go to a gun show in Virginia and buy them.
What I really would like to know is, what brand of magazines are the most desired and most reliable? It seems most AR shooters like the Magpul`s. If so, which models do you prefer?

P-Mags are great, but if your looking for metal ones the C Products Stainless Steel with Anti-Tilt followers and a Wolff spring have never had a mis-feed. Used them in both semi and automatic weapons

Can't go wrong with PMAGS or USGI mags and they are all about $10-$25.

I have been shooting AR's for almost three decades and have never had any magazine related problems. Maybe I'm lucky but I doubt it. I just think the rifle magazine combo works well and there really isn't many problems encountered as long as you are shooting .223/5.56mm.

I have Colt, Parsons, C-Products, D&H, NHMTG and two or three other brands I can't recall right now. They all work and work well. The Magpul followers are an obviously better made and designed follower, but my older mags without them work just as well anyway without them.

I wouldn't worry too much about getting bad mags. The only brand I won't buy is ProMag and that's because so many people have had so many problems with their various pistol mags, I'm not willing to give them a chance. They may be fine for all I know, I just haven't tried them.

PMAGS, when I lived in maryland, I bought my mags online and sent them to my sister's house in VA. then whenever I went up for a visit, I picked them up  from her.

if you do this, just make sure you pick them up out of MD, don't receive them inside MD.

Through normal use aluminums will last a long time but the facts are there are better and the aluminum mag is the weak link in the M16/AR15 family of weapons. In the service where wear and abuse can happen at a pace we will never see with just range trips.Pmags are definately better in my opinion.I use the old brit and singapore grey steel GI type mags with magpul followers and wolf springs and those are very reliable.I also have some TD arc mags and those are near indestructible.Hech the Korean copies of H&K maritime mags are way better than GI aluminum.

Pmags for sure. I have 8 30's and 2 20's and they have been 100%. I have 50ish 30 round usgi mags that have also been 100%, but the pmags are better in every way. I did some torture testing with pmags and they still ran flawlessly. I will neverbuy another mag except pmags.

I don't have anything against P-Mags, but a polymer tank doesn't sound like something I'd be interested in.
