I installed a CMMG lpk into my Kaiser Defense lower and was out at the range firing it for the first time and noticed my safety selector kind of binds up in between safe and fire.  What could cause that?

Probably just burrs in the selector. Whenever I installed my RRA LPK into my DSA lower everything was rough at first.

you could drop the grip out and reinstall the safety detent and spring, make sure its in there correctly and or see if it turns frrely without it.  Could be catching on something on that side too.

maybe the detent is in backwards?

or the springs got swapped?

or it just needs to be operated a bunch of times to smooth the rough part.

Probably has a nick or burr in the groove where the detent rides when you go from safe to fire. I had this on one of my RRA LPK's and was easily fixed by a few strokes with a small triangular file.

I worked on a Rock River the other day and I looked at it 3 times before I realized their star safety lever was hitting their Rock River labeled Hogue grip. I ended up using a Dremel and a disk to grind a half moon relief into the grip, it worked fine and looked factory. This particular rifle had their 2 stage trigger.
