I am about to step out and put this together.
Daniel Defense DDM4v2 with a Leupold Mark 4 CQ/T. The only thing that I don't like is the fixed front sight, but I can learn to live with it. I may want to see if I can have the shop swap out the black stock for the tan just for looks. I feel that this will handle my needs and be as complete as anything I could piece together at a really good price point. Doing all of the reading and touching and feeling of several different makers stuff over the past 3-4 weeks I have not been able to find a "complete packaged" platform that has everything I want exactly as close as this. From what I understand and know DD makes really good stuff. Teamed up with the Magpul parts on this weapon system (even though the stock is not the CTR), the QD sling mounts, and all of the internals being MilSpec this should be a great place to start from and the weight is light enough everyone in the family can use it. |
| From everything i've read, DD makes a damn fine rifle. I've never personally shot or handled one. but i wouldn't hesitate to buy one based off of the quality of their other products. I'm sure you'll be happy with it, i would choose and acog for my scope personally, but that has nothing to do with the quality of the rifle. just my preference. |

The only thing I find "wrong" is the CQ/T
I dont mean to poop on your parade but I personally hate it. It's like looking through a straw. I sold mine and purchased a Aimpoint instead and later an ACOG for another weapon. I would suggest either of those options but if you like it then more power to you

| Good info on the CQ/T. I am not totally sold on anything yet untill I look through it on the rifle. I may be swayed with L3 right down the road from me here in North Texas. I will look at the offerings from Eotech, Trijicon, and Aimpoint. I will have a look through all three of them on the rifle and decide which one has the best sight picture to work with and allows me to shoot both eyes open the easiest. I feel that the optics will root themselves out on their own. They are kind of like shoes...they gotta fit to make everything work right. I plan to pick up the rifle today and hand it over to the wife for wrapping and placement under the tree. |
