I sorta check in this before but dropped the ball.  I have a HBAR Colt post ban, I want to mail it to adcom to get  it threaded.  I have to remove it from th upper but the sight base can stay on.  The cost is 65.00 plus S&H twice.  I will need to get an action block and action wrench to remove the barrel ($70.00 plus  S&H).  Will I need headspace gauges when reinstalling the barrel.  I figure total cost would be about 150.00, not sure its worth it, may be better looking for another barrel.  I'm hoping I will not need the head space gauges to put it back on.

Thanks,

You will not need head spaces gauges to put the barrel back on.

Just send them the whole upper and have them disassemble/reassemble.

I thought they would not take the whole upper.  I thought you had to send them just the barrel.  I'll double check.

Thanks, snowman357

I think they will disassemble/reassemble for you but there will be an extra charge to go along with the extra work they will be doing. That said I would let them do it anyway.

I also thought you just could send them the whole upper- I am contemplating the same thing for a ban-era AK-braked shorty BM barrel.

Let the pros do the wrenchwork.

yes we take whole uppers. if its just std barrel nut, thats a $35 diss/reass fee. If its a FF upper thats $50 diss/reass.

ETA: My bad its $35 for diss/reass not $25 sorry

I've let ADCO do the disassembly/reassembly for both of my uppers they've done. Great work, service, and turnaround time!

I had a local smith do mine for $50 OTD.
Not a hack job, cut and indexed on a lathe/mill.
Installation of the Phantom I bought included.

I'm sure ADCO does fine work.
Just sayin' you might be able to avoid all of the shipping hassle.

Shipping issues aside, I would send it to ADCO.

Every job I have had them do has turned out great and every gun has come back a better and more ture shooter.
