Yes it is defiantly going to be a serious addiction that already has emptied my wallet.

The only real question i have is how many rounds have been through the gun.
I HAVE been looking at this post.  http://www.ar15.com/content/page.html?id=255

But from what its telling me in comparison to the pictures i could have a hole range of rounds through my gun.
So Sunday when im home from school im going to take some macro shots of the parts of the bolt assembly that "Bartholomew_Roberts"  took in his thread.
ill be sure to put them up probably in this thread. and see if anybody can give me a solid estimate.
On another note it was pretty dirty, and there was a good amount of carbon buildup on some areas that didn’t want to come off easily.
so ill be spending some time looking for a good cleaning thread with anything involving "buildup" and how to take care of it.

Sweet rifle.  Now you get to spend the rest of your money on ammo to feed the addiction.

KAC rail system. Would keep the fixed front sight.  My dad has the same CAA handgaurd/rail system and you can definately do better.

Ty, to recommend accessories, I'd have to know the purpose of your rifle.

Are you like most of us and it's a range toy with second duty as HD/SHTF use?

If so, it's damn near ready to go as is.

First thing is to get at least six mags and at least  1/2 case of ammo.

I'd recommend to keep the fixed front sight. It's rock-solid and already paid for.

I used to have a RRA gun and hated the star safety. I replaced it with an ambi-safety.

I have big hands/long fingers. I replaced the Hogue grip with one that fits me better.

The stock was replaced with the excellent ACE skeleton stock. ACE stocks come short or long, depending on your stature.

ARs/ guns in general, are a personal thing. You're gonna get lots of recommendations based on others' individual wants/needs.

Shoot the shit out of your gun as is. After that, change what you don't like.

Yes it will by my range toy and SHTF Gun, although it won’t be to much of a late night HD gun with that 3x9 scope, and lack of flashlight.

I’m working on the magazine situation, I have 2 magpul pmags on the way.  Also 2 colt magazine (won’t buy anymore of those) and a C-products magazine, which I am probably going back to Hoffman’s and grabbing more (11$)
I’m looking into a rock river arms operator stock also at the moment, just trying not to completely empty my savings account.
i will look into the safety and see how i agree with it on Thursday at Hartford gun club.
and I’m not a big guy so the supplied grip seems more than fine.

Thursday ill bring a camera and hopefully remember to take pictures.

Thank you for your input echo_5

Just a follow through.
Ive been shooting for the past few weekends at hartford GC.  Absolutley love the gun.
On a side note im looking into a Eotech holographic sight.  the 3x9  nikon i have right now is nice for 100-150yards.
BUT what i really want to get good at, is grouping tight while standing using support at 50 yards. (Seems more real world SHTF/HD practicle)
and see how fast i can nail those 5 bowling pins with 5 shots.

im on a very tight budget(im a college student)  so ill be looking around in the classifieds

Heres a pic: (ill get more once i remember to take them...)

Save for the Eotech before a rail system. Being able to hit things is more important than feeding into the tactical wannabe crowd. Looks like you have everything else for a great rifle. PMAGS can be found for $15 shipped at AIM and they are proven reliable in most quality rifles.

A few things, first off Welcome!
Second don't worry too much about the number of rounds through it, I am sure it has a lot more life left in it!
Lastly, nice ride, good thing you got a car that will last a long time. You won't have any money to replace it now that you will soon have BRD!

Heh heh welcome to AR rehab 101.

leave your scoped gun alone because now you have to go out and get a second AR so you can set it up for SHTF with red dot BUIS etc because you cant just have one gun.
