The carry handle that came with my RRA flattop upper has an "A5" on the left side just in front of the rear sight.

The carry handle from my Colt HBAR has an "AH" in the same location.

I've seen "A2" on Colt M4A1 carry handles also.

What do these letters/numbers mean?  I'm assuming the "AH" on the HBAR is a referrence to the heavy barrel...am I wrong?

They all shoot fine, I am just curious about the details.

it is just a foundry manuf marking.  means nothing on how the rifle will be built

Any marking can be found on any CH.  Seems the only difference people have found is a slight height difference in the rear measuring from the rail up to the flat where the rear sight sits.  No info if that is a difference by maker or forge provider.
