| Earlier this afternoon I was at a local funstore feeling up a Colt 6520. I noticed when I thumbed the selector lever it moved freely with little resistance or little to no audible "click". I rather like how easy it seemed to be to manipulate. Are all Colt selectors like this? If so, I'm switching out all of my current selectors for the Colt parts. |

probably grease or something in the detent.
My LMT was like that. No audible click at all, and just kind of slide between the 2 positions. after I wiped the white grease off of the spring/detent it became must more positive But as for colts, my 6920 is VERY positive. |
I just removed my pistol grip and tried greasing the detent track in the selector and the detent as well. Definitely smoother, I've tried 3 different selectors trying to find one that wasn't gritty as hell or almost impossible to switch. I need to learn to leave well enough alone, I've had that grip off the rifle 347 times, any more and I'm gonna wear out the threads in the lower .
