Hello, my name is Robbie. I am new to this board as well as the AR world. I don't own one yet but I have been lookin since the fall machine gun shoot here in Kentucky. I was wonderin if you all could lead me in the right direction for a good starter gun, as well as give me some pointers in operatin/maintainin my rifle etc. I am almost sold on the S&W M&P15. My plans for the gun are home defense, recreation, and mabey some huntin just cause I can (but I don't want a rifle for huntin). I'd like to slap a non-magnified red dot on it in the future when money allows it.
Thanx for any help! |

My first AR was and is a M&P15. Damn solid gun.
+1 for library, Industry and stickies in these forums. Lots of great info and contributors on this sight. Check out your hometown forum. There may be some locals that can help. KY hometown Here are links to KY EE search. You might find a good used AR local or within drivin distance. Warning: Buying an AR can result in contracting BRD. |
| The S&W is a fine stick but im going to make a suggestion to get a built lower with a BCM midlenght upper. I have one and love it and if it would have been my first AR it could have been my last. The quality of the work is unbelievable and is back with one of the best CS teams in the AR community. Check out Bravo Company USA, they are a sight sponsor and for prob $250 you will have alot nicer ar. |
