I have a .928" barrel around the gas port and i cant find a lo-pro gas block fort that size... the closestt ive found was a PRI .936"... could i just get friendly with a file or will that ruin it? will the PRI be a fit?

are you measuring AT the gas port, or is there something already on there and you are measuring just in front of it?

It appears that if your barrel is .928 and the I.D. of the gas block is .936, you will have an .008" gap...not good!  You must either lathe the barrel diameter at the gas block to fit a smaller available gas block, or find one that is .928-.929"  you can make one the same diameter fit by hand fitting.  You can also make your own if you have some basic shop tools/equipment.  I have made several of my own.  Just take your gas block down to a local machine shop and ask them to bore out some stock at .929, then cut, drill, tap, and heat treat with torch and blacken with alumablack, works great if you have the inclination.

Of course, .928 is not that uncommon of a diameter, so keep looking, i believe DPMS used to carry this diameter, but they may have discontinued it.  Good Luck.
