| So I'm on the verge of buying an Armalite m15 and wanted to whether or not a specific model has a threaded barrel or not. The gun in question is a m15A4CBA2K which is M15 with a flat top and an A2 front sight. On the Armalite website every other rifle in their M15 line lists them as having a threaded barrel at 1/2 28. Unfortunately on this model that factoid is absent. When I checked the parts section the barrels that came with an A2 sight were listed as threaded as well. So to make a long question longer does anyone know if the M15A4CBA2K does indeed come with a threaded barrel and to ask a noob question that does mean I can remove the flash suppressor and use a different model right? Thanks in advance! |

You might want to get your hands on an Armalite m15 before you buy one. I purchased an Armalite AR-15 in 1999 and I gotta say I have noticed that the gun just hasn't held up like I thought it would have. The metal seems softer and has some nasty gouges and scratches. I have treated this gun fairly carefully since owning it and it just isn't as tough as my Colt that I was used to when I was in the Army. Early this year I purchased a Colt and there is no comparison between the two! The Colt is a much better gun in my opinion.
Maybe Armalite has improved on quality in the past 10 years, but if I had to do it all over again I wouldn't have bought the Armalite. Now with that being said I have a couple of buddies that have Armalite AR-10s and they love 'em, so maybe the lack of quality isn't the company but the model. Good luck |

If its a new ArmaLite and has a flash suppresser its standard threads.
As for ArmaLite quality, I got one last year and its a fine rifle. It compares well with my RRAs and others I own and have used. My, at least, has been flawless and I am very fond of it. Some just have to have a Colt or whatever. Good for them., everyone should have what suits them. |
