| Anyone ever have issues with the required force needed to seat a full Pmag with the bolt in the closed position. |
|
How many rounds did you load?
Pmags will accept 30 rounds and CAN still be locked in on a closed bolt albeit with ALOT of force. Shit, you can even load a PMAG with 31 rounds but locking the mag in on a closed bolt is almost impossible. Load your mags with 28 rounds and you will never run into issues. |

To load and seat a 30rd Pmag in my RRA lower/LMT upper/BCM BCG takes a hard hit! But on another RRA lower/custom upper/YM NM BCG it's fine. |

Works great with the bolt open. But I did open and check the lock just to make sure there was nothing wrong there. Thanks!
Some times Pmags are known to be a tight fit in certain magwells. Check for that fit itself, you know, break the weapon open and see how easily it seats in the magwell by itself. Could be the problem. |

Anyone ever have issues with the required force needed to seat a full Pmag with the bolt in the closed position. The PMAG is designed to be loaded to 30 rounds and still have enough play to reload with relatively little effort on a closed bolt. I can fit 31 rounds in a PMAG, which means that loaded at 30 there's still about 1 round's worth of play left, which aids in seating on a closed bolt. On a USGI magazine there's zero play left in the magazine with 30 rounds in, hence the advice to download by 2 rounds. If you're having to really beat the thing to get it to seat on a closed bolt something's not right. |

Pmags are designed to hold 30 rounds and be seating on a closed bolt.
Tripple check that your not accidentally loading 31 rounds, as this is easy to do but will not seat on a closed bolt. I can easily seat a fully loaded 30 round mag on a closed bolt, doesnt even need a tap, just a firm push into the magwell. |

Very simple.
Sometimes when you pop a mag in and out a few times, the rounds will slide forward just a hair and the tips of the rounds can catch at the front of the mag. Slap the spine of the magazine against your hand one or twice and then insert it. It should be much easier. Happens to me when I practice reloads. Quick slap and they're good to go again. |

If the # of rounds isn't the problem, I would also suggest you check your magwell bevel on your lower. If you have a very small bevel on your front lip, it's out of spec and it makes it hard to impossible to insert a PMAG. I've also noticed that some generations of PMAG's are easier or harder to use on these out-of-spec lowers. I've seen several Stags (and early CMT/Stag manf. S&W's) with this problem. I've also see those crappy Roggio lowers with the same issue. You really have to slam them hard to get them in. If you do have this problem, you can just file down the front top of the first rib on the magazine.

I have Pmags fully loaded with 30 rounds and they lock just fine in my Colt 6920 and my Sabre lower on my custom build with a closed bolt. I've had to give a slight slap to the mag for proper seating maybe twice since I started using pmags. |

I keep my 6 loaded mags I rotate annually loaded to 27 rounds.
Even loaded at 30 i have no problem inserting them in my 2 Colts and Armalie SPR.. I had a bad expirience with some older p-mags and the guys at Magpul hooked me up with new ones. you may want to give thema call or try in some one elses gun. |
