I am about to make my first AR purchase and I have been through this sight reading up as much as I could. I have decided on the brand and configuration I want but I am having a hard time deciding if I want a rail or a carry handle. I know a rail will give me more options for add-ons but I guess my question is will a carry handle limit choices for optics? Will that also affect comfort or performance with an optic mounted on top of a handle? Thanks!

I would go with rail. Handle-type scope mounts are very limited, besides using that setup gives you a very uncomfortable shooting position.

the only optics that will work well on the CH are Compact ACOGs.

this. You'll want a rail eventually.
