Going to buy AR kit thinking of going with Double Star upper, and Spike lower. Did some research on Double Star haven't heard anything real bad. Wanting to know what everyone thinks. Money is tight but I think I can build a pretty good AR in 6.8spc with this setup. Not very many have kits in 6.8spc. Wanted to build DEL-TON but no 6.8spc, DPMS no 6.8spc. What does everyone think thanx

I don't have any experience with any of the brands you are requesting but, you said that money was tight and I was curious to see why you chose a 6.8? ammo costs in that caliber are in line with a .308 and if funds are tight, how do you expect to feed it to get practice in? I'm not knocking your choice cause I have a 6.8 Noveske but, like I said earlier, I was just curious..

well I am already good at shooting, but always need some practice, I wanted to go with 308 however the cheapest gun I could find is around 900 and I have 650 to build one. It is alot easier to come up with 60 to 80 dollars for rounds than pay 900 for 308 and have no money for bullets. And after being in the army for 4 years I never did care for 5.56/.223, plus I want to use it not only for self defense but hunting. I am now in law enforcement so I get enough practice any way.

that make sense then..go over to 68forums.com and they have site sponsors listed just like here. Maybe you'll be able to find more info to your liking regarding the 6.8. that's where i researched before my purchase. Good luck..

I looked at model 1 sales, was going to go with them however they are a little higher and they don't offer military or law enforcement discounts like Double Star.
