Went shooting today with a couple of friends to break-in some new rifles.
The only ammo on the bench was Privi M855. We were zeroing three rifles: two Colt Model 6721 with 1/9 twist & one Daniel Defense with 1/7 twist. The two Colts grouped well @ 25M keeping all five shots in the "circle" @ 25M with a standard 25M zeroing target. When it came to the Daniel Defense rifle, I could've thrown bullets at the target and achieved a better group. (Yes I've read the arty on ten shot groups) The first five shot group was tight in windage, but was 2" vertically. The second group was similar to the first, only 3" vertically. The third group was 3.75" wide by 2.25" tall. The fourth group was 3.75" wide by 1" tall. The fifth group was worse yet. The rifle just wouldn't zero, the sights were tight. FYI, in the manual it states one click=.5in elevation @ 25m and one click=.2in windage @ 25m......DON"T believe it, it's a misprint, the sight adjustment will adjust in cm NOT inches. Does anyone know of any QC issues with the Daniel Defense rifles? What could be causing the problem? Thanks for the help. |

Vertical stringing is usually a result of poor bench technique. Post pics of said bench setup. Also, the IBZO or revised IBZO are better methods then the old 25m Army way. Details on the methods? Your kidding, right? over 9,000 posts and you have not found the tacked thread? RIBZ - - Revised Improved Battlesight Zero (now with down-loadable 50 yard zeroing target) |
