One of the first custom AR builders out there.

I've got an older upper from a build I did in 1998 and it has been an accurate SOB for the better part of 10 years.   Think the barrel is only just now starting to shoot loose, I had to get out of handloading for about the past 2 years and haven't had a chance to really chase any loads in recent years.    When I first got the rifle I had 2-3 handloads that were averaging 3/4 of an inch for 10 shots at 100 yards.   That is with mixed brass and throwing charges directly from the measure.

Has been a great varmint rifle over the years.   24 inch bull barrel with the JP brake, rifle weighs about 14 pounds unloaded, with a bipod and a 6.5-20x Leupold I have ruled the Ca. ground squirrel ridden hills out to 400 yards pretty reliably.   Hits on jack rabbits out to nearly 600 yards were good times as well.

Those days are largely behind me now thanks to the damned California (gay) Condor lead bullet ban, there are limited lead free loads available for 223Rem that would lend themselves well to long range shooting.

They cater toward the competition crowd.  I've got one of their BCGs and it is a work of art.  Expensive, but IMO worth it.

Not exactly! While they are well known in the 3 gun / competitive shooting realm, they have an excellent line of general purpose tactical rifles both with their parts and with VTAC parts.

My back up 3 gun rifle is a JP CTR-02 with 18" cryo barrel and BC brake, sweet shooter!

John Paul knows how to build a very accurate rifle make no mistake about it.

I'm sure you've checked out their website.  Their commitment is to build the best AR possible, without compromise.

I have CTR-02 that I use for 3 gun and I just picked up a LRP-07 that haven't had a chance to shoot yet.

There are plenty of reliable and accurate ARs available, but JP not only makes a great rifle, it comes with probably the best customer service of any AR manufacturer.

Here is a link to a pic shooting my CTR-02 and a few other guns at a local 3 Gun match.

NIce stick and neat Sagia too.

Daniel Horner of the AMU runs a 20 " JP rifle for 3 gun.... and so far in the states for 2009, he has come in 1st place in tac optics for every match he has shot... and thats quite a few so far. That should say something about JP rifles.

Hey there, Congrats on the acceptance in to the AMU!
