I don't think you can really tell from using a snap cap.

I use 9mm buffers in all my carbines which are heavier than your H buffer.

Why do you care so long as 100% of the time the spent case comes out?  They should be hitting your case deflector anyway.

Ah... you changed your question in mid stream.

Sorry. I figured that was a better question. I have read that they slow down the speed or something?

I missed the original question.  I bet it was fun.

An H buffer is sometimes purported to "increase reliabilty", but what it will really do is smooth out the cycle, which may reduce wear.  Your rifle should work with both equally.

For those wondering where the original answers came from, I edited my post afterwards and slightly changed the question. I had originally asked which is better, 3 or 4 o'clock or about 5 o'clock ejection.

Go with the H buffer.

I must be the only guy on the planet that has never had any issues at all with standard buffers that cost much less than heavy or 9mm buffers.

I bought an H Buffer and now I just need to go shoot and compare it to the standard buffer.

Nope. The only 9mm buffers I have are in 9mm guns

Is there any significant advantage to upgrading to an H buffer from a carbine buffer??  The "chart" makes it seem like a good thing.

The buffer will get heavier, and your wallet will get lighter.  That's it.
