| I know this is going to sound naive but oh well....I have an Armalite 20" upper with the standard 2pc. handguards and front sight gas block. What type of gas block do I need to install a free float forearm such as the DPMS tube? |

If you remove your FSB you should be able to install the FFT. Otherwise you will need a low profile gas block and a different front sight. Why do you feel the need for the FFT? I bought the upper used off of someone on here and when I got it I noticed that the front gas block is actually made for the triangular handguards and not the round ones that are on it so I thought that I would just go with a free float and remove the front gas block all together if that is possible. |

The triangle handguard cap is normal on rifle-length (20") AR's, even if the handguards themselves are round. It harkens back to the day when the triangle handguards were the only ones available. As for the gas block for FF, it depends on the type you want. You may need a low-profile block for the tube-type guards, but you wouldn't have to change a thing at all for the Daniel's Defense Omega. There are all sorts of combo's in between. Tex78 |
