Hi all
A have an old PWA lower that I want to refinish. Most of the anodizing has rubbed off but otherwise everything is ok. I just want a spray on finish to save money so investing in an airbrush is not an option. What is the best option to refinish my lower from a spray can which will hold up to regular use and match the black anodizing of my Delton upper? Ive heard of alumahyde but dont have experience with it. Are there other options for me? Thanks Frontsight |

KG GunKote. Still holding up after 14 years of use. You can get it direct from KG Coatings or from Brownells Or obviously, Duracoat is another good option, but you're back to needing an airbrush. If you shop, you can find an airbrush setup for about $50 and then order the KG or Duracoat, I personally like Duracoat better, but that's only because of how it lays down, they're both tough and will last a long time. I really think if you want to refinish your rifle, wait, save up the money, and do it right, there isn't anything you can buy in a spray can that will have anywhere near the finish quality or durability of a duracoat or KG. |
