Hello all Iam a new guy when it comes to AR's,But not firearms in general. Some may know me from other forums,
Just wanted to say hello.Just bought my first frankenstein Ar and looking to learn as much as possible. It's an Essential arms lower with RRA LPK,and A bushmaster hbar upper with surefire rails. My first question is what optics to use for general plinking.I've installed the magpul BUIS,But would like some different options. Thanks again, Steve |

Thanks again, Steve I think a good Aimpoint or EOtech would be a great starting point. If your on a budget, watch the ar15.com EE, good used aimpoints and eotechs can be hard for around 200 dollars. That would be one suggestion. Another is to get a 1-4 power optic. Since you said it is just for general plinking this might be overkill but you dont know how bad BRD can be... Welcome to the site |

Firstly, welcome!
I would suggest getting proficient with your irons.. if you're not already. I like red dots a lot and find them pretty versatile. I'm assuming by "general plinking" you mean casual shooting at a range and not going through carbine classes, but if that suits your fancy a good red dot would fill either roll well. You'll find about a dozen "aimpoint vs. eotech" threads if you search for them here, so do yourself (and us) a favor by looking through those for a lot of opinions on the matter. My preference is the aimpoint, but either are fine sights. |
