Okay... I want to take my EOtech off my primary...

1) I want to paint it
2) I want the thumb tightening screw to use on an old N cell EO I have on my Spikes 22 upper.

How do I go about it?

[#1]
torque

[#2]
Heat up the screw with a soldering iron.

Unless i'm missing your question if it's blue it should break free relatively easily....

Which loctite?

If it's purple or blue, then torque is all you need.  That and a set of screwdriver bits that fit properly.

If you're dumb like me, and use green to bed a gas block, then heat, torque, and prayer are in order.

Red should loosen with torque, but might need heat as well.

Red will be crap shoot.
If the threads were de greased before the loctite was applied then I am certain heat will come into play.

If it is a professionally installed unit then it's probably blue. But if not who knows???

ETA ... I made that mistake before.

I used blue, thanks for the replies.  I don't remember if the EO thumb screw had a slot.  I need to go check.
