Simple errr... Stupid question: Does the 6940 use the standard Colt M16 BCG? I have a bolt group from a 6920 that I would like to throw in a 6940. Any reason not to? I am not very familiar with the 6940. Thanks!

I don't actually need to change, I am thinking of buying a 6940 upper without the BCG. I have an extra from a 6920. I thought they were the same, but I have not looked into the 6940 at all... until today.

Thanks - any suggestions on using a 6920 lower - Large FCG pins. Other than the pins, I believe the 6920 and 6940 are the same lowers as well, correct?

yeah the same.
use the 6920 lower with full confidence. even the roll mark os the same. and if you bu a new made 6920 ( this year) the FCG pins ar the same as the 6940 anyway. so you will have a complete 6940 anyways
