| I am not up to speed on the Colt LE 6920's. Aren't there newer or older versions that are more desirable? Pin size or something? Which is best? Can this be determined by serial number? Thanks for all the help. |
| The newer ones have the standard .154" hammer and trigger pins that everybody else uses, and I believe someone has identified a serial number benchmark, or an approximate serial number benchmark. Without that info, though, you can measure them. But be aware that thousands of us have been able to make do just fine with the .170" pins. |

If you plan on getting an aftermarket trigger at some point get the .154 pin. If you don't think you will then dont worry about it. Anything thats new right now will be the .154 one. I believe the serial number range is somewhere around the 50xxx range. there are plenty of new 6920 with the serial going into the 7XXXX so just make the serial is 58XXX and above to be on the safe side. |
| I have a 6920 that was buit in 01, so mine has the larger hammer and trigger pins. I am in no hurry to sell it and grab a nw one with the standard pins. Saying that, if I were getting a new rifle today I would want the Mil-Spec size pins for the ease of replacing parts, etc. Now, something else to think about, if you find someone selling a 6920 that has the larger pin size use that as a bargining tool. This is a carbine, and Bill Springfield does a great job on standard trigger groups so there is no need of a match trigger. JMHO. |
