Does anybody know if a Larue QD Eotech mount or Yankee Hill Machine Eotech mount will fit infront of my rear buis without extending onto my handguard? T4 is the first slot showing infront of my sight. Its a CMT/Stag arms upper receiver. thanks for any help.

I am afraid that not only would that riser raise it too hight, but it would look stupid. I want lower 1/3 cowitness.

The LaRue mount will hang out about a 1/2" passed your upper receiver with your particular rear sight.
Unless your handguard and flat top are too far out of alignment, it should work fine...I checked on one of my rifles.

Thank you splitbolt. I have one last question though. This solid section where the receiver and handguard meet wont interfere with the attatchment of the larue mount, will it? Could you maybe post pics of the mount on yours? thanks alot!

you should not "bridge" the mount over that spot. either mount it on the receiver or on the handguard, not both.

Bridging the gap between the HG and upper shouldn't be a problem. My DD Omega is SOLID with zero movement. I have the LT-110 with a EO 552 mounted across the gap. No problems whatsoever. The LT-110 gives a 1/3 lower cowitness. I have a Matech BUIS and a EO 3X magnifier behind the LT-110.

My set-up with Troy rear sight.

How you will have to mount with your rear sight...one notch forward.

Underside of LaRue mount...ball detent on the forward mounting point ends up in between the handguard and upper.

Pic of my alignment

In this application, I think bridging the gap is acceptable as long as your handguard/upper alignment isn't too off.The Omega is solid and there isn't much deflection(if any) in that area.
ETA: I had no problem locking them down to either my Omega equipped Colt or LMT...alignment is same on both.

I can't tell if your setup leaves enough room for the LaRue Eotech mount to fit, but I know that "bridging the gap" is usually a non-issue. The mount itself clamps onto only the upper rec, and what you see of the Eotech that extends over the handguard isn't actually touching the hg's rail in any way.

So if the LaRue mount can fit your setup, any misalignment or gaps the upper and the hg won't matter.

Hope that helps.

Thanks again Splitbolt and everybody else who commented. I now feel safe to buy an eotech and the mount.

The portion forward of the red line will sit out over the handguard. The blue arrrow points to a portion of the mount that keys into the upper rail. If your handguard sits too high or low, it might cause a problem
