| If you had the plain jane AR, what list of mods would you get and why? Money is no problem. I am looking for ideas for handguards tango down grips, weapon lights, |
|
That damn site has cost me $1800 so far.
ETA: To the OP, I would (and did) get a Stealth upper from LT. I had a plane Bushmaster 20'' HBAR that I dressed up with a new upper along with a good scope. I think it was worth it. |
|
that's nothing. I spent that much there this month
|
|
What only $1,800........I have reached close to 10k within 3 years. |

I'll play...
Assuming I have a 16in barrel, I would get a lo pro gas block then put on a 11in LaRue rail with M900. I would put a KAC triple tap break on the end. I would use a CTR stock with a MIAD grip. For a BUIS it would be Troy front and rear and an Aimpoint T1 for a sight. Finally, I would send my Upper receiver and BCG to Fail Zero to get coated. Damn I think Im gonna have to start a new build... |

I am looking for ideas for handguards tango down grips, weapon lights, For an all around rifle meant to do many missions 3-9x scope with illuminated reticle on QD mount I would prefer a Larue MK4 Eotech or Aimpoint your call with qd mount PVS-14 Gen III mono with helmet rig and 1913 rail mount PEQ-2a IR laser illuminator or a PAQ-4 if you can find one Surefire 951 Rails––––-Larue or KAC depends on if you want to free float the barrel or put in a low pro gas block BUIS––-Matech stock––-I like a CAR stock but to each his own here VFG––-grip pod or larue fug Pmags a silent sling 2 point mil issue trigger-timney If you put this together with the Helmet mounted NVGs you will have the best set up around you will however have about $8000 in the rifle or something like this-I have always loved this rifle http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e315/ROKbeef01/NN3.jpg Ummmmm. Only problem is I don't think that's your rifle, unless you stole somebody's couch. |

This is good advise! I would also add that you should consider a 2 stage trigger. IMAO |

I already did my two carbines, a Colt 6721 and a LMT M4gery 16" carbines, but your post made me think if I would do another Colt 6920 what would I do to it.
I would just at first have a rail system, VFG, light, Aimpoint, and my choice of grip and stock, then later maybe an ACOG alternate optic, Surefire/ AAC sound suppressor and NV optics/ gear. FS: Surefire or Blackout (sound suppressor compatible) Low profile gas block: LaRue Rail: Daniel Defense MK18 RIS II (short version RIS II) Rail covers: TangoDown SCAR/ Magpul XTM VFG: LaRue FUG Optics: Aimpoint Micro T-1, Aimpoint M4S and Aimpoint 3X magnifier all on LaRue QD mounts BUIS: Troy M4 set Trigger: Geissele SSA 2 stage combat trigger Ambi controls: Norgon mag-catch, LMT ambi selector & ACLM Armadynamics CH Grip: Magpul MIAD Trigger guard: Magpul enhanced folding version Receiver extension (buffer tube): Vltor 5 position Buttstock: Magpul CTR/ LMT SOPMOD Weaponlight: Surefire M620C Scout Light Kit Minor upgrade: BCM bolt extractor spring upgrade kit |

I am interested in a lightweight rail system, where can I find specs on weight for the Larue and KAC, Also do they make a railed low profile gas block? I want to just tweak my colt. Yes they do make railed gas blocks Railed GB Im sure there are other brands out there if you search. However, you might also think about just getting a longer rail to cover the block. This way you have the extra rail and you still can mount your front sight to the rail...just an idea. I am looking for ideas for handguards tango down grips, weapon lights, I'm sure this apparent and probably doesn't need to be said but... if money is truly no problem why not start with something other than a Plain Jane rifle? This would obviously eliminate duplicate spending. Why pay for a needed component twice? Then again, if money is no problem who cares? |
