ready to start adding items to my rails. planning to use a Surefire G2 LED. what kind of mount do you recommend for this light going on a troy rail system. thanks

A simple VTAC mount with a G2LED works great if you don't feel the need to quickly remove and replace the light. Pretty good price and I'm happy with the quality and mounting options.

If you want quick detach, you can't beat LaRue.

The larue offset qd mount is what i have on mine. I love it. Can post pics if you want.

I hold with half my hand on the FUG and half on my rail. The offset mount right there makes it perfect to push with my left thumb.

I'm using the Vltor Off-Set Scout Mount mounted at 12 o'clock right up against my front site .

I have a LaRue mount. But its way to heavy for what I need. The Viking mount is great. As stated its not easy to get on and off the rail, but that is usually not an issue.

I've got a Daniel Defense offset flashlight mount with PAK (Positive Action Knob which allows the user to quickly attach and remove the light mount), the price is a little high but I intend to use the same mount when I upgrade my light.

Whatever light mount you decided to get contact the guys from BrightFlashlights which are a AR15.com dealer, they're great to deal with.
