| Not trying to start a war or anything just wonder how their carbines compare to colt or the like. Found one for sale and just wondering where they fall in the list. thanks |
| They used to tell everyone that the were a supplier of guns to the special forces. They say that the stuff they sell is designed by people who were in the special forces. Maybe so. But based on what they used to say and or tell the world, which of course was not true, I'd have a hard time believing anything they say, or buying anything they sell. There are much better options for less money out there. Buyer beware. |

They have a bunch of tacticooled-up sticks with high price tags on them, and they appear to want everyone to think they're some kind of Secret Service/Navy Seals/Green Berets/Special Forces dudes. I think it's more likely they're wannabes. Since most of their stuff is readily-available base guns with crap hung on them, there's nothing really wrong with the merchandise ... it's just the prices they're charging and tolerating them that are painful. . . |

I live just a few miles from their store front and visit them when bored. I would compare the quality of their guns to Rock River Arms and Bushmaster. As for their prices, I think they charge way too much. In the Sog store most of the parts and accessories seem to be full list price + 8.2% for tax + another 10% because they can. Soooo, I would say their quality is good but way over priced. |

This weekend they had plain flat-top carbine upper for only 799.00 and 699.00-the barrels had ms1 stamped on them. I just loled and walked on by. |

And Lone Star had complete M1S uppers two aisles over for $460. SOG does not have a very good reputation here in Houston. |

didn't they get in trouble for selling fake aimpoints and claiming it's the real thing? i thought i read something on calguns.net I just read that here in the optics section. They ripped a guy on a fake aimpoint magnifier, knew it, denied it, and half ass reimbursed him all the while denying they did it. They'll never have my business again |
At the bigtown show here in Mesquite yesterday I was looking for an upper so I went to their booth and just laughed my butt off out of there. They wanted 1100 for a 16" upper with YHM rails and no BCG. Picked up a complete Del-Ton upper for 490 a couple of booths down.

They screwed my dad earlier this year on a Colt upper that was stamped "High Standard" under the handguard. Thread Hijack alert! I never noticed until your profile picture how similar the Texas is to the Warspite from the front. The only difference from the front is the conning tower and supersturcture. Sorry for the hijack. Valiant, which was sister to Warspite |

Quoted: Also they charge $50 for transfers That's about what I've been quoted by Carter's, Collectors Firearms and Fountain Firearms on HWY 6. In fact, Collectors told me that it was $75 and if I got it on an auction site they wouldn't even transfer it and if they found it later that it was from an auction site, it would be $200! I found an older individual FFL in Bellaire and he charges $25. oh and never dealt with them at gun shows but dealt with a very nice guy named Jason at the store front on the beltway, and he didn't have a chip on his shoulder or talk down to me like I was a complete moron. He was a very cool and professional guy! That was my only experience with them. |
