ok, don't know how or even if its possible. I went to the range and when I removed my ar from my bag there was a spring in there. I am almost certain it is the takedown detent spring because I bent it when I took the stock off. The spring went back in when I put every thing together. I shot the gun several times between removing and returning the spring and when I found it. How could this happen? If the spring wasn't bent and thereby allowing me to identify it I would think someone is messing with me. I consider myself proficient with a rifle but a novice with an AR. Any thoughts on this is greatly appreciated!

ok so I took it down and examined more and it HAS to be the buffer retaining spring, seeing as how the retainer will not stay up. To show my ignorance, how is the spring replaced or accessed? Do I have to remove the stock first? and HOW IN THE WORLD did it come out?!?!?!
THANKS! |

Quoted: Unscrew the buffer tube a few turns to allow the retainer to pop out of the hole.ok so I took it down and examined more and it HAS to be the buffer retaining spring, seeing as how the retainer will not stay up.
