Well, my poor 11 month old weim puppy has some health issues that will probably require me to sell at least one of my AR's to pay for. What should I sell, and what should I keep?
This is what I have 1) Bushmaster patraolmans carbine, <50 rounds through it. 2) RRA Entry tactical <50 rounds through it 3) LMT CQB MRP Defender Model 16, new never fired 4) Bushmaster/colt hybrid that consists of a bushy lower with full length stock, and a colt M4 HBAR upper Im tempted to sell the patrolmans carbine, because that is probably the one that can be replaced easiest. THoughts? and here is the pup in question: http://img219.imageshack.us/img219/4391/dsc1329.jpg |

i spend only $75 for a dog. i tell the vet if it is going to cost more than that, stop and call me. $75 is the cost to have the dog put down. the vet bill is always $74.90. i know that i sound very insensitive towards animals but for me i need a guard dog, not a bunch of vet bills. keep the guns and your money, loose the dog. but that's me. mr insensitive.

Price them medium to high and list them all, sell the first one you get a decent offer on and withdraw the rest. In other words let the market decide. I would go with this except not list the LMT only the other 3. I would second this.................but what if he comes back the next day, and all 3 have "I'll take it! PM sent" replies. I would put a disclaimer in the ad, letting people know that as soon as one sells, the others are withdrawn. To avoid any hurt feelings and people thinking they got screwed. EDIT: Nice looking pup you have. Hope everything works out for him/her. |

by the way, sell the RRA, i hate RRA, they are known for many of of spec guns and broken parts You were told by another member about a week ago, in another thread, that he saw an RRA bolt catch snap in half. Now you hate them, and they are known for out of spec guns and broken parts?
(....and no, I don't even own an RRA anything.) |
Just had a similar issue with my dog. She slipped a disc which herniated into the intrathecal canal impinging the spinal chord making her essentially tetraplegic. I opted for surgery to remove the disc and therefore relieve the pressure off of the chord. During surgery she hemorrhaged 10-20% of her total blood requiring a transfusion. I told the vet to treat the dog as if she were your baby, and I dont care what it costs. Dont misunderstand that, my financial abilities are extremely limited. Im also saving for our wedding next 10 July 2010. My point is I didnt care what it would take. I would of sold every piece of hardware I own plus the shirt off my back to pay for it. Id chase that dog into hell and snatch her from evil if I had too. Long story short total bill was 4k+ but worth every penny. Shes sitting on my couch right now with her stuffed frog smiling at her daddy. I love my dog more than I like most people. Do what you have to do to make your dog right, he/she will repay you with a life of unconditional love!

(....and no, I don't even own an RRA anything.) +1 nothing wrong with RRA Sell the LMT for fast cash, everything else you will have to wait on a sale. be advised that with anything you sale right now , your going to lose your ass on. Not so much of a demand anymore, and there are LOTS of ARs being sold right now. |

Sell the RRA, it's the lesser quality rifle and will sell easiest to the RRA fans that believe they are better than even a Bushmaster much less a Stag or CMMG.
I have three rifles and have only shot one of them as of now but will be shooting the recce I just built this weekend. |

I would avoid selling a gun at all costs. There has to be some crap in your garage or attic you never use. You'll probably regret selling a gun. There has to be some other stuff you can get rid of and get that money. Hope your pup is ok. It seems to me the OP would regret losing the dog more than a replaceable, inanimate object. But to each his own. Sell the BM patrolman's carbine. As you said before it will be the easiest to replace. |

"It seems to me the OP would regret losing the dog more than a replaceable, inanimate object. But to each his own. "
Indeed I would. I like my dog more than I like most of the people that I know, and am will to do what it takes for her in terms of healthcare for treatable injuries and illnesses. In any case, thing are working out better than I expected, and I will probably be getting off with a vet bill in the hundreds, and not thousands of dollars. As to why I have so many AR's with little to no use, lots of reasons. For one, the bushy/colt hybrid was always my main AR, and has close to 2500+ rounds through it. The others were all bought in the year prior to the last election, and I just have not had a chance to get to fire those yet. The other reason is that the range I go to kind of sucks, it is hard go there and enjoy yourself without some senior member, or hard-ass R.O. getting in your face about something. I've gotten grief there for everything from not noticing an unfired round under my bench that fell out my range bag, to picking my range bag up and my CASED guns and walking away from the firing line during a cease fire. As a result, these days I really need to get myself pumped up for an afternoon of shooting when I know that some overly macho, self important RO will undoubtedly find fault with something I am doing (no offense to the RO's on here that aren't like this). Anyway, thanks for all the well wishes for my pup, she is not out of the woods yet, but things are looking much better than yesterday. |
| I'm glad to hear that your puppy is doing better than expected. It's good news that whatever needs to be done won't cost an arm and a leg, and bless you for even considering giving up part of a hobby to help a companion. [/mushiness] And Happy Fourth, everyone! |
