So here is the dilemma, I am putting a slingle pont sling on my carbine and I don't know which sling to use but the big question is: QD VS HK hook. Who has experience with these and which is the better option? Lets get this hashed out ![]() |

It was recommended to me to look at the MASH hooks. I've not tried them yet, nor have I ever purchased from this store, but it's the part that was recommended to me (and if you look at it I think you'll see why) http://www.botachtactical.com/itwmashhook.html Just something to keep in mind. |

First of all due your research on botachtactical on this forum.
In regard to attachment points, I have used the quick disconnects and like them better than hooks. Thats my preference though and others will differ. Look at Magpuls ASAP and Tactical links 360 mount. Tactical link is super expensive though but it is sweet. |

I use QD also, I like it better myself, I have Tactical link 180 mounts and just recently got a MI rear single point mount which seems pretty sweet. |

It seems to me like there is just more that can go wrong with the QD attachments, small moving parts. The hook seems simpler. But I like the way the QD can rotate. Still confused.

HK hooks could accidentally get disconnected in rare conditions see this video.

Also check out Daniel Defense QD endplate and Blue Force Gear MASH hooks. How do these babies work? ![]() They're like two hooks that are overlapped, you have to separate them a little like about one tenth of an inch, then hook one hook in the hook loop mount. It's kind of like your key rings. It won't come out accidentally like the HK hooks, I usually seen them used on M249 and M240 machine guns. |
