I have a 2yr old DPMS Mark12 that I hardly ever shoot anymore and can't see myself using it anytime soon. I know the market a few months ago was near impossible to order a new one or if you could find someone who could place an order was selling it full tilt retail and the wait time was astronomical. Guys have been selling them full tilt also. I've been planning on posting her on gunbroker but were having a rummage sale starting tomorrow and going for a couple weekends. I figured I'd try and sell it out of there without having to pay fees to an auction site first. It's not anything that I have to sell RFN but I thought it would be an easy way to start for an engagement ring this fall since I don't shoot much with the ammo availability and price. Would I be nuts to ask retail for it? Also would it be better to sell without the optics?

I have the upgraded Titanium Nitride bolt assy, the original 30rd steel mags, never loaded. And 3, 30rd Pmags. Optics is a Leupold VX1 4-12 BDC duplex with Leupold quick release rings.

Not sure what it's worth but you always lose on optics and accessories. I would take the scope off and sell it separately.

If this is your only AR I wouldn't sell it though. You will regret it later when ammo is cheaper again.

You can ask whatever you want. It what your willing to take that matters. Lots of guys will want a different scope so selling it with the current scope is a liability to them and just makes the gun a little too expensive for them. At least be willing to separate it for them if they want it that way. Good used scopes do good on the bay and gunbroker.

Accessories dont sell. All the money in aftermarket parts will be lost. All I can say is that I sold an AK to buy stuff for my AR and I dont regret it at all. The decision is up to you.

Anyone know if it's still tough to order a new one? I'm thinking if it's 6+months that I could sell full retail. Realistically that's what I was thinking. I mean from an investment standpoint it seems sell now. Buy when we get a Republican back in office and ammo drops in price and guns are not being horded in fear. By all means I have no intent of giving it away. But I want the ammo to justify what i want for it. So I'm thinking $1664.00 without optics and take off the tac sling and forward grip.

I'd take the optics off as well. You always end up loosing out on them. There is someone out there that wants them, yes. But does the person that wants them also want your gun? Not usually.

DPMs prices

a similar gun is 1455 new ––––––––-     like some of the others have said–– depends on how bad you want it gone.    With Colts dropping down to 1300 bucks or so and the gun shows being flooded with black rifles, its kinda a buyer's market

$1200 if you wanna dump it  (cause i know you didnt pay 1600 bucks DPMS retail for it)   ––––-  a VX-1 may be worth another $150  - 200 bucks

You're about a month or two late for getting "full boat" retail, plenty of AR's around. Give her the rifle instead, keeps it in the family. I gave my wife a glock 23 one year and a BM carbine another.
