I have a tapco 6 point stock on my AR. It has a small amount of play and i'd like to tighten it up. I'm poor, so i can't afford to buy a new one... anyone know a way to make it wobble less?

I used some Velcro between the tube and stock to tighten it up. I bought some at walmart in the craft section in small tabs and used the soft side.

that was a fantastic idea! worked perfectly, and i already had the velcro in a drawer. No wobble at all now, and it still functions perfectly.

Nice!

How much Velcro did you end up using, and how did you lay it out on the buffer tube? I've got an old Gen I metal sliding stock that is wobbly and noisy as hell. It would be a really nice stock if I could tighten it up a bit.

Thanks in advance.

I've used a strip about 1/2" wide X 2" long in the side of the tube recess, just inside the entrance.

I'll give that a shot this weekend. Thank you for giving me specific instructions...I'll waste less Velcro that way

I had the same problem with my Tapco T6. I am replacing it with a mil-spec tube and ctr.

When you shoulder the rifle, it doesn't wobble anymore right?

the stock does not wobble at ALL. It makes no noise whatsoever, and changes settings smoothly and quietly.

I didn't put my velcro on the tube, i pit it inside the stock. Same result, slightly different method.

WOW... just finished a switch from an A2 to a CAR and had the same problem... some old ACU soft side velcro cut in half worked great.  Good idea!
