I recieved today the magpul ctr and the sling adapter that goes by the locking nut. My problem is how do I get it off. I tried using the ar tool and it didnt budge at al I even tried a smaller stock wrench so I could get a better grip. In result all it did was scratch the locking nut and not moving. Is there lock tite on it?

From looking at my sgt's, hi is staked and has some sort of epoxy over the stake mark. Maybe try to cut the epoxy, then use the wrench.

Yep, probably staked. A drift or pin punch might help to push the metal back. Something without a point so you don't beat the crap out of your castle nut.

I didnt replace mine, but it was staked on there pretty good.  Over in the build it yourself forum, a guy yesterday had the same trouble.  He broke two wrenches before he finally got it off.  It was staked as well.

This is the 3rd thread I've seen in 2 days with IDENTICAL issues.

1) Colt must be employing superhuman assemblers
2) Users forgot about the search feature
3) Guys just aren;t reading the current threads
