Well I ordered a 10/30 PMAG (30 round pmag pinned to 10 rounds) and I was testing it out in my M4gery with a doublestar lower/RRA parts kit. It seems that the bolt catch is not working for the PMAG, but it works for all my other mags.
After inserting the mag into the rifle with the bolt closed and then pulling back on the charging handle, the bolt catch doesnt hold down the rear part of the mag follower like it should. It gets stuck behind the follower and basically makes it impossible to use the bolt release unless I take the mag out. I tested out the mag in my 20 inch AR with a spikes lower and it works exactly how it should. Im thinking that the problem is the doublestar lower is out of spec, at first I thought it was the bolt release, or even the magazine itself, but the release works for all my other mags, and the mag works in my other AR, so it doesnt seem like they would be the problem. Has anyone else had something similar happen? |
