I was looking on spikes and i was gonna pick up this

link

my question is how long is a "specter" length handguard in relation to a rifle length or carbine??
I was gonna put it on a 20 inch rifle, how close will it come to the FSB? or will it actually cover it

Smack in between the two!  Specter length was designed to cover the gas block completely on a carbine length gas system

I think it's a middy handguard, if you try and install that on a barrel with a rifle-length gas system you will have a couple of inches of gas tube exposed.

Here is the whole upper:

i may pick it up anyway for 200 bucks

i was gonna put it on a 20 inch rifle and make a medium range gun out of it and the fake can might make it look cool too...

anyone got any pics of a spector length on a 20 inch rifle?

You're gonna have a hell of a time finding a handguard that will "cover" an FSB, unless the FSB has been shaved down.

If you install a middy handguard on a 20" barrel, you're going to come up a couple of inches short from the FSB.

You want a rifle-length handguard, unless you like the idea of having an exposed gas tube.
