Are all CAR handguards created equal?

Are some better than others?

I have R4 double-heat shield on my RRA AR. I would like to put a set of CAR handguards on though.

As far as I know, yes, pretty much the same.

Single-heat shield, old-school CAR handguards. More comfy for some since they're not as fat as the M4 double-heat shield version.

Try CavalryArms or any of the other vendors. Have you considered the MOE handguards?

have a set of carbine handguards off my M&P, i'd let go real cheapo. Single-shielded, standard.

Are all CAR handguards single heat-shield including RRA?

Any such thing as a double heatshield CAR handguard?

never had problems with single heat shields here in SWFL

But I dont do mag dumps

I have seen CAR handguards without any heat shields and with single heat sheilds. The M4 HG do have double heat shields and are nice if you have the full auto happy switch.

As to which is better for a semi that is up to the rifle's owner to decide which he prefers.

This. They fit my smaller hands very nicely and are the same weight as the lightest DH M4 guards I've found.

This picture should illustrate the difference, M4 double heat shield on the top and CAR single shields on the bottom.
The M4 handguard is definately more comfy if you are shooting rapid strings or full auto.
The CAR handguards fit most peoples hands better and will work just fine for a day at the range.
