I just purchased a Bushmaster AR15. Im putting a Larue 9 in floating handhuard with low profile gas block, What can I do about the two un finished(bare) spots on the barrel where the stock front sight was before I put different sights on ?

Is this the whole "Bushmaster and most other manufacturers don't parkerize under the FSB"?

Someone hopefully will come along and have a better answer then me.  Maybe look into having the whole barrel gun-koated?  (sp?)

Well I believe it will be covered by the 9'' Free floating rail. If not, I would consider buying some Birchwood Casey refinishing touch-up.

Cold blue?  It'll be covered up anyway.

I believe LaRue made his gas block so it would cover the holes for the taper pins so you should be O.K.

The gas block should cover up the "bare" spots.
