| I see lmt rifles for sale that are listed as a Lewis Machine & Tool Defender 2000 . Why doesn't their website list a defender 2000? Or am I blind? They sell a defender, but not defender 2000. Same thing or what>? Just makes me question things because I have found the defender 2000 for like 1200-1300 $$ but then I see other people selling them for way more (like $1700 not with quad rail). |
| HAHA I never noticed that. Yeah, it seems like people are in transition between panic buying and regular pricing again when looking at their asking prices. Okay so the defender 2000 is the same as the plain old defender. Also, some people state they have a defender 2000 with 14.5 inch barrel. Was this cutom made, ebacuse the complete firearms section on LMT site does not list a defender with a 14.5 only 16. |

Bravo Company has them listed but out of stock now. I have an LMT lower and a 14.5" upper I bought separately and had a Sabre Defense extended flash suppressor permanently attached to bring it to legal 16" length. http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/LMT-14-5-M4-Carbine-Upper-Receiver-Group-p/lmt%2014.5%20urg.htm My LMT

The LMT semi auto lowers are actually marked model "DEFENDER 2000" That's the basic model name then they have several model packages like "Defender Standard Patrol Model 16" which are the basic standard model with standard M4 stock, then the next higher model are their "Defender Standard Model 16 with SOPMOD Stock" which added the LMT SOPMOD stock, plus other optional components could be purchased like for example two stage trigger assembly, etc. LMT also have the 10.5" barrel uppers available which are SBR classification. Ref: LMT 10.5" M4 Carbine Upper Group at Bravo Company site link There are also the MRP Defender models with quick change barrels, monolithic rail platforms upper receivers in carbine and rifle models plus the newest piston carbine. |

I would have bought one also, but already have most of the parts for my new gun. Definately a good deal, but they probably have more listed also. |

Very nice! Good work OP-you won't be disappointed I don't own an LMT lower yet, but I absolutely love my 16" LMT M4 uppers. I've found myself quite spoiled by their quality, consistency, and reasonable price tag. I can't remember who originally convinced me back in 2005 to give LMT a try, but I'm awfully glad they did |
| Hey, thanks for all the support and clarification. Yeah, I cannot wait to get it. It will be the first upper tier rifle Ive ever owned. And the price is unbelievable (at this time especially). I thought something was fishy and was even a bit hesitant. I spoke with them and they said they are just a large dealer and can afford to do this. And obviously the 800 positive reviews helped console my purchase. |
My LMT upper doesn't have a forge mark behind the case deflector but it have a LMT etching on the left front side (see my first pic). LMT uppers comes either with a forge mark behind the case deflector or without it, most comes with the LMT etching on the left front side, very early LMT uppers didn't even have the LMT etching. To me it really doesn't matter much as long as it have the LMT logo plus it came from LMT's approved forging supplier and meets their quality standards. There's also a letter L marking on the barrel extension if you look at the chamber area. Here's a thread about a member that have both LMT uppers with and without forge markings. http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=118&t=443726 If you guys don't believe me just check out the archives. |

I'm not saying it's not an LMT, I am just saying I'd like to know where mine were forged, that's all. All of my LMT's have the cardinal forge markings, same as my Colt's have their respective markings. |
