| Just got my MIAD delivered (finally), and although I ordered the basic kit, they sent me the full kit at no additional charge with a note saying that Magpul has discontinued the basic kit. Anyway, I have 2 other MIADs with the F2/B3 configuration. Now that i have the full kit, I am curious as to who prefers the F3 over the F2. I guess it just moves the finger groove up , but I can't figure out why you would want that? |

I have a very old pre-production 2005 MIAD grip and once I tried the F3 front strap with the finger groove I didn't like the location of the finger groove when I switch shooting to my support side.
I prefer the no finger groove F1 front strap for tactical type shooting but the F2 finger groove front strap are fine for target and hunting in my opinion. |

I believe the F3 is only for MIAD conversion to a VFG. I think I found a discrepancy in Magpul's documentation, they shown the F3 front strap with the built in trigger guard in this product manual. Magpul Product Manual - link Then Magpul shown the F4 front strap with the built in trigger guard and the F3 front strap for the vertical fore-grip. Magpul MIAD Grip Manual - link I would agree that the F3 is the front strap for the VFG. |

I think the OP was describing the new F3 VFG front strap. |
