[ARCHIVED THREAD] - selector spring

does anyone know if i can just hop over to ace hardware and pick up one of their springs in place of ordering a 1 dollar spring and paying 8 bucks in shipping? Do you know what size i would need? I cut mine down thinking it would solve a tight selector switch problem to no avail, and after putting on an MOE grip the safety is way too loose. Suggestions?

how much did you cut it?

You might be able to just put a plug/spacer in the grip to make up the difference.

i dunno, i thought about a plug/spacer but id rather get a new spring. Worried that a plug or spacer might eventually find itsway into tangling with the spring and making it a failure again
