Any info out there on these springs ,I see they are pretty pricey.

What's the (supposed) advantage of them?

Well they are made by a champion shooter  David Tubb I guess ––Brownells sells them –– as better quality? I was hoping quieter

WHAT?!?  No love for the "SPROING" noise???

C'mon, ya gotta have the "SPROING!"

Should last longer, undergoing greater cycles without loss of overall length compared with a steel spring

As someone who has had more than a passing interest in the metallurgy and engineering of springs for many years now, I would be interested in hearing some numbers on that if you have any.

Don't want to hijack this thread, but I've just received a buttstock kit with a black spring and silver carbine buffer.  I'm used to the bronze looking springs and gold buffer.  Is there a difference in material/quality here or just color?

Only that provided by the CS spring manufacturers (certainly not unbiased)

You might try posing your question in the mag forum, as it seems to be widely accepted there that CS springs outlast SS springs, although if not properly treated have greater problems with rust.

Try replacing your buffer's endcap with a Blackjack AR buffer tip.  I put one on my new H2 buffer and no longer get the "sproing" sound.

The ad in Brownells say " 500,000 compression cycles at maximum performance––gives correct timing and resistance on the recoil stroke a controlled rebound ensures reliable feeding with consistent forward thrust  every shot, keeps the bolt locked a little longer to allow pressures to more time to subside for perfect cycling"
