I was at the range today and talking to a guy. We discussing the need for anti rotation pins on my Bushmaster. Whan I use the Ciener kit my trigger pin backs out, but not when I use the standard carrier. He said that is a normal problem with Bushmasters becuase they dont "steak the trigger pins". I concider myself fairly knowledgable in AR assembly, but I have never heard of steaking to pins. Is this a normal practice? Do I need to re-educate myself on AR's.

(Yes I know if I put anti rotation pins in it will solve the problem. I have already ordered them)

DO NOT STAKE YOUR TRIGGER/HAMMER PIN HOLES!
When the material wears away you will have a worn out lower.
That was very bad information.
Just buy the KNS anti pins and you'll be fine.

Clearly you found yourself in the presence of a total moron who knows all there is to not know about the AR rifles.

your friend is a idiot

you don't need anti-rotational pins you need to assemble the FCG correctly.

If you want to fix them in place without killing the lower, clean with break cleaner, then green locktite, one drop at the end of the pin-done

I dont have any intentions on steaking the pins. As I mentioned in my first post I have already ordered the new pins. I was just wondering if anyone had heard of this as normal practice by other manufactures. I

Not a practice by any manufacturers.  Staking the pins never happens.

This thread just made it into my hall of fame, as to why my students  should never, ever come here for advice on their weapons.

Have to remember this one for later, this is almost as good as the guy that did a "flute job" on his barrel with a dremel tool

Someone please add "steaked trigger pins" to the AR15 Manufacture Comparison Chart...
