So, I am wanting to put either a Vltor modstock or Emod on my Rock River lower and have some questions. Excuse my ignorance, but I have been through Vltor's site and can't find answers to some of these.

1. Can someone verify that Rock River buffer tubes are commercial and not milspec? I am 99% sure they are
2. Are both the Emod and standard modstock adjustable? Sounds dumb, but there are no pictures on Vltors site with them extended
3. I am looking at buying the Emod Basic Kit which includes the stock, battery compartments, butt/strike plate in the commercial version. Will this be a simple slide off of my RRA stock and slide on of the Vltor, or are extra parts needed (receiver extension tube, manual lock pin etc...)
4. The standard modstock model looks like it can be adjusted faster and easier than the clubfoot model (the lever mechanism looks different). Do you guys prefer the clubfoot or standard?

1. RRA have commercial buffer tubes.

2. The EMOD and the carbine models are adjustable but the rifle Modstock model are fixed.

3. The commercial version of the EMOD body will fit your RRA commercial buffer tube, you don't need the Combo kit which includes the Vltor buffer tube and hardware, you just need the basic EMOD kit without the buffer tube.

4. The clubfoot adjustment lever are that way so that the clubfoot area are not blocked by the lever when supporting it with your support hand, also the different design also prevents accidental adjustment, it works fine even if it looks different.

Some members here that don't use the clubfoot for support actually cut the standard carbine adjustment lever and installed them on the clubfoot Modstocks.

I've got the EMOD, clubfoot, and the carbine Modstocks, all are high quality and works well, I'm very satisfied with all of them.

Thanks so much for the reply. I am thinking I would like to go with the EMOD, cause I like the storage compartment. Can you confirm that it comes with the rubber butt plate? Also, from what I gather, the EMOD is slightly longer than the standard carbine modstock, correct?

+1 On Vltor EMOD although you may experience Vltor's stocks being a very tight and difficult fit. Many have but it'll work itself out quickly and the EMOD, especially on a big hitter, like a .308, will do work wonders...

The emod will come with the butt plate. Yes the emod is slightly longer than a M4 stock while the modstocks are shorter than a M4 stock. I dont really care for my modstock but love the emod.
Just get the basic comercial kit and you are good to go.

Yes, the EMOD comes with the rubber buttpad and metal strike plate, mine was a basic kit.

That's correct the EMOD are longer than the standard carbine and clubfoot modstock, they're even longer than the LMT SOPMOD stocks.

Also the EMOD are heavier than most stocks so I would not recommend it for carbines with standard or short rail handguards.

Good deal. It will be going on a midlegth with a 12in ff DD rail. Would think that the EMOD would be a nice counter balance to the forward weight on the upper.

I just put an EMOD on my M&P 15T and really like it. I did notice that it fit much tighter than my previous stock. After a little use it has loosened up and works fine. I wasn't sure about the lever at first, but have gotten used to it now and have no problem with it. I really like the rubber buttplate and the storage it offers. I think it would work out well for you.

My Emod was super tight and trying to adjust it was a nightmare.  I then started sliding it back and forth a bunch of times(500+) and it has loosened up a bit.  It still sticks in the fully collapsed position.  Oh well.... Next time I will buy Magpul.
