As mentioned previously, having M16 parts in you AR does not mean that it will be capable of automatic fire, but it does mean that you could be in violation of the law. The penalties are harsh, and definitely not worth the risks.
Well, my recent-manufacture Colt 6920 has the extra-length shroud on the BC, and that's the way they're sold. No way can they call foul on me, since Colt sells 'em that way to the public!

Unless you have a state law saying you cannot have a M16 BCG in you rifle, then you cannot be in the law for simply having said BCG. If you have enough parts to make a MG, then you can be in trouble, but just a BCG is not going to get you in trouble. Remember, nearly all upper receivers made today are FA upper receivers, too. |
