I ordered one from a dealer that was part of an pending order expected by end of December 2008.  LMT has finally shipped it late this week.

The wait times have grown geometrically.

I remember when the wait was just 2 months in late 2008.

I ordered a complete LMT piston rifle, an MRP rifle lenght upper, a complete lower with SOPMOD, a 10.5" complete upper and a SOMOD butt stock body only back in Feb. I got the lower and the stock body last week but everything else was backordered until Nov/Dec of this year even though originally told 4 months. I don't mind the wait though but the longer you wait to place an order the longer you wait to get it.

I can tell you why it's been such a long wait.

75 people building guns that everyone wants is going to take awhile. I wish they would hire some elves.

Anyway, don't get on the waitlist for rifles. LMT is shipping that out to dealers 1st and the waitlist gets the rifles last. Only order parts from LMT directly. I ordered 6 MRP locking bolts and (2) 5.56mm bolts and got that within a week.

LMT sent me an email saying they have hired more personnel and are working extended hours to try to make things move along quicker.

Im also dying to get my hands on an LMT PISTON but after calling the factory with the wait list going well into 2010, I think i'll have to find a better way to find one.

The past three LMT piston ARs on gunbroker all sold for over $2,600...

Anyone know any distributors that [might] be getting any sometime soon.
Every time I call a seller they all say the same thing, "Yep...we have no idea on shipping times." I can't blame them as everyone is in the same boat trying to find one of these.
