I searched the forums and couldn't seem to find the answer.

I am new to the AR platform, so forgive if this is a stupid question. Just finishing my first build and have a question about BCGs.

With respect to the Young BCGs, what is your opinion of the National Match vs the STD chrome in a defensive rifle? Granted my thinking might be off, however when I hear the words "Match Grade", I think two things - Accuracy & Finnicky. I have shot hand guns for years and although race guns are nice and accurate, I would never want to have one as carry weapon or to defend my family.

My first AR build is for a SHTF rifle, so I want "go to" reliability. If money isn't the concern, is the match grade BCG better or worse from a reliability standpoint? Is it even an issue?

Thanks for the info. I have learned alot from this forum and helped my first build!

I would go with the standard M16 chrome. Since Young doesn't stake their gas key screws buy it from someone that does or plan on doing it yourself.
