| I got a stag model2 with the MI flip up rear with the big and small peepsights. I thought these peeps were same plane just different sizes(for low and reg light) but i think its for close and far range since im always too high or low( i think i was using differnt peeps different times). Can anyone confirm? Also, if they are not same-plane, what is standard to use? The big one gives a better, faster sight picture, but the small is more precise. Thanx for the help. |

They have two BUIS, the ERS and the SPLP. The ERS is NOT same plane. You would have to measure the rear sight to find out the offest, 0.014", 0.017", or 0.024". |

Yup, that is the ERS and is NOT same plane. The 0-2 aperture is designed to have a 200m zero when the small one has a 300m zero. Check out Molon's thread here on page 6: http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=18&t=328143&page=6 |

I know standard M-16 sights the little one is for regular use and the bigger one is for night firing. Justs give you a little better front sight picture at night. You can use the big one during the day but it is not as accurate. I think the big one may also be used for full auto.
